Who is your instructor?
My name is Alice Belusko. I have been studying Hawaiian Lomi Lomi for the past
20 years. I lived in Hawaii for 10 years and learned the philosophy of the Hawaiian culture and their healing tradition. I am currently living and teaching in South Florida.
I studied with Aunty Margaret from 1988 until 1990 under her direct supervision through her apprentiship program. Aunty was the sole instructor and my practice sessions were one-on-one with her. I felt honored to work with the master and learn techniques not taught in a classroom situation.
Due to the overwhelming interest in Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, I have asked Aunty Margaret for her permission to teach this ancient art. She gave me her blessing in July of 1999.
I have designed two Lomi Lomi classes based on Aunty Margaret's training. Lomi 1& 2 is the beginner class. It is the basic Lomi Lomi routine with introduction to the use of elbows and forearms. This class also includes Hawaiian history, and an introduction to Ho'oponopono. This class is a two-day, 16 hour class.
Lomi 3 is the advanced segment which is also a two-day class. Lomi 3 incorporates side positions and detailed elbow and forearm work not taught in Aunty's regular classroom
The workshops are 96% hands-on and I demonstrate on all students. Because of the high amount of personal instruction the class is limited to 20 students.
The workshop includes a digital photography color workbook along with a laminated "quick reference" sheet. The visual presentations are done using PowerPoint and the same photo's are duplicated in the workbook.
Hawaiian Lomi Lomi is a loving touch. Success is guaranteed by the loving touch. Aunty Margaret says, "If your hands are gentle and loving, your patient will feel the sincerity of your heart." This is a universal formula for healing.
